Regulation Compliant with the regulations of 2022-2023 World Athletics (WA), 2022 the JAAF and Gifu Half Marathon. Additionally, the WA Road Race Label Regulations and WA Advertising Regulations are applicable due to this event being labeled and certified by the WA. Doping tests will be conducted in accordance with the regulations by the WA.
Check Points/
Time Limit		 (1) Athletes who fail to pass a Check Point before it closes must drop out of the race and follow instructions given by the officials in charge.
(2) Athletes who fail to reach a Check Point before the time listed below must drop out of the race and quickly move out of the course to sidewalks. Athletes who fail to reach a Check Point and drop out of the race should get on a sweep bus and return their timing chips to the officials in charge.

application		 ◎Before applying to the race, all the participants are required to read all rules and regulations stated in the by laws and agree to follow them.

Please be sure to confirm the contents of "Important: Infection Countermeasures against COVID-19“ in these guidelines.

  1. No change of event, cancellation, or refund of entry fee will be made under any circumstances after the application has been made.
  2. Each participant may only apply for one event, and may not change events after registration. False declarations of age, gender, record, etc., or participation by anyone other than the applicant (illegal participation) will not be accepted. If an individual or a group is found to have participated illegally, not only will their entry be cancelled, but they may not be allowed to register for future competitions.
  3. Substitute runners and transfer of rights are not allowed at the event. If such actions are found, the entrant will be disqualified. In such cases, the organizer will not provide any compensation.
  4. If an athlete registered with the JAAF participates in the second part (half marathon general), the record will not be certified.
  5. If you are registered with the JAAF, please enter your affiliation name exactly as registered with the JAAF when you apply.
  6. Minors must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before applying.
  7. If you are visually impaired and wish to participate in the race with a runner, a special athlete bib will be provided for your runner. Please contact the Runner Call Center when you register.
  8. After registration, participants will receive an entry guide in mid-March if they are selected to participate. Athlete bibs, etc. will be given to participants at the registration desk. Athlete bibs must be worn on the chest. Athlete bibs should be worn on the chest, while those registered with the Japan Amateur Athletic Federation (JAAF) and Heart Support Runners should wear them on their chest and back.
  9. The area around the venue is expected to be very crowded on the day of the race. Please use public transportation or shuttle buses whenever possible. Parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so please register at the time of registration.

  17. No banners, placards, etc. are allowed for advertising. As for costumes, please follow the guidelines set by the organizer (see the website) and dress sensibly.   18. If you are registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) and wish to participate in the race, you may obtain a certified record certificate (fee: 500 yen). Please apply on the day of the race. The certificate will be sent to you by post at a later date.
  19. Please take all trash home by yourself.
  20. The entry fee will not be refunded in the event that the event is reduced or cancelled due to an earthquake, windstorm, flood, snowfall, fire, incident, accident, illness, or any other reason beyond the control of the organizer.
  21. Entry information may be used in the Chunichi Shimbun's coverage of the event.
  22. The organizers reserve the right to use any images, photographs, articles, records, names, ages, addresses (country, prefecture, or city), etc. of the entrants during the event for publication on TV, newspapers, magazines, and the Internet, as well as portrait rights.
  23. Providing data to the Japan Association of Athletics Federations RunLink Age Rankings This event participates in the RunLink Age Rankings conducted by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (these are time-ordered rankings for the entire sanctioned event. The ranking includes the results of all participating runners, including elite runners). In addition to your address (prefectural and city level), we will provide your name, bib number, date of birth, gender, net and gross times, and rank.   24. Photos and other materials related to the event may be sold to the general public (including by contractors). The organizer reserves the right to use personal information.

Important: Infection Countermeasures against COVID-19

  1. Infection countermeasures in place at the Marathon
    The Half Marathon will devise and put in place infection countermeasures (submission of health check sheet records, infection testing, temperature checks on the day of the event, etc.) as appropriate, with reference to the precautions against infectious diseases issued by the government, the Japan Sports Agency, and the Japan Association of Athletics Federations. Runners with elevated body temperature or who do not meet the Half Marathon’s participation criteria may be refused admission to the venue or participation in the race. In this case, the entry fee will not be refunded.
    *As soon as they are formulated, specific participation criteria will be announced on the official website and sent via email to participating runners.
